CARSON  VALLEY  RECYCLING ,  LLC

The fee for this service is $10.00 per month and is billed quarterly.

We will pick up 2 times per month on your scheduled day of pick up with Douglas Disposal Inc. (or when they service your area, whether you are their client or not.) Upon subscribing, we will supply you with your bags and stickers.

There are two sizes of bags: 13 gal. & 33 gal.  They are available for purchase at our business or on-line for .22 or .44 cents per bag, depending on the size of the bag.

We are implementing this pilot blue bag program because we feel it to be cleaner and more efficient than smaller bins that are used in other areas in the State. We also believe this system to be easier for the homeowner to implement.

  1. We are issuing two bag sizes so there will be more options for you and to see what you will utilize, etc.

  2. It’s easy and convenient to add your recycling receptacle to the same area as your kitchen waste.

  3. Just as you would your waste can; you  would commingle your recyclables and take it to your designated area where your bags hang or stand and start your segregation process.

  4. As the bags get full with your sorted recyclable, then they get set out curbside on your designated pick-up day.

Depending on your desires, you can use both sizes of bags.  We are offering 2 sizes for more options for you and so there is less wasted/unused space in the bag.

  1. BulletAll bags need to be closed.  They can either be tied with a twisty or with the top corners of the bag.

  1. BulletThe bags need to be left on the opposite side of the driveway on your regular garbage pick up day by 4:00 am away from your garbage can as to not interfere with Douglas Disposal’s (DDI) services.  Please secure bags with a rock or of the like on those windy days.

  1. BulletIf you are not a client of Douglas Disposal (DDI), but live in their service area, you can still have services with Carson Valley Recycling, LLC for traditional recyclables only.  (See the next page for what items are considered acceptable and “traditional” recyclables).

  1. BulletDDI will not pick up any blue bags or any debris from them, so please do not ask them to.  If your house is missed please call our office: 783-9199 by 2:00 pm and we will come and pick it up.

      Here’s  another

             great tip

Store your blue bags in a clean & empty, lg. cottage cheese container, strawberry container, or even a bread crumb container, with a cut-out in the lid.  Then store them under your wheeled “Laundry Sorter”  and pull them out individually as needed to re-line the compartment.

    Here’s a great idea:

Line a wheeled “Laundry Sorter” with the blue bags and on pick-up day; wheel it to the curb and place the bags on the driveway!
